IPC Sweep Aside Osu Youth to Extend Five-Year Derby Dominance

IPC Volleyball Club continued their remarkable dominance over Osu Youth Volleyball Club with a commanding 3–0 victory in the rescheduled Presby Derby, delighting home supporters at the IPC Court.

Originally scheduled for Sunday, 21 June 2026, the fixture was postponed because of heavy rainfall before eventually being played on Friday, 3 July 2026. Although the match had originally been advertised for a later kick-off, first serve eventually took place at 10:00 AM.

The home side immediately took control, winning the opening set 25–16 through aggressive serving, disciplined defending and clinical finishing at the net. Osu Youth responded with greater intensity during the second set, but IPC remained composed during the crucial moments to secure it 25–18.

With confidence growing and the home supporters firmly behind them, IPC completed the afternoon in convincing fashion, cruising to a 25–13 victory in the third set to seal another straight-sets win.

One of the major talking points before the match was the inclusion of Abraham Lincoln and Baba Ali in the starting lineup. Both players justified the confidence shown in them with mature and energetic performances.

Abraham Lincoln settled into the contest quickly, displaying composure, excellent decision-making and strong all-round play that helped maintain IPC's rhythm throughout the match.

Baba Ali was one of the standout performers of the afternoon. His energy, athleticism, determination and confidence lifted the team, while his willingness to take responsibility during important rallies earned him warm applause from the supporters.

Collectively, IPC produced one of their most disciplined performances of the season. Strong blocking, effective serving, intelligent ball distribution and excellent defensive organisation prevented Osu Youth from establishing any sustained momentum.
